Careers

Students who are enrolled in California Wind Tech are poised to take their first step in an industry that has many career options. Spanning from support services to turbine construction to operations and maintenance, there are a variety of wind industry specialties that are both rewarding and challenging.
Graduates that choose to go out into the field after completing our course may find themselves working as a service/repair technician or as a member of a wind turbine construction crew. After some time and industry experience, these field positions can lead to employment as a commissioner, consultant, or crew leader. Often times, those with significant industry experience can go on to start their own business and employ technicians and construction crews that are able to further meet industry needs.
While the career paths mentioned above are rewarding by themselves, this is only one part of the picture. Field services today also rely on the talent of office personnel who have knowledge of wind turbine systems. To fill this need, graduates of our program can seek employment as administrative professionals in a number of specialties in the wind industry including SCADA operations, contract analysis, and geotechnical analysis. Gaining valuable experience by working behind the scenes in administration can further lead graduates to develop the skills needed to build their own support or staffing company for a range of services.
As can be seen, there are many career options and plenty of wind energy jobs to choose from as the industry is both growing and dynamic. With current public support of new standards for renewable energy generation, we at California Wind Tech believe that this is a historic opportunity to begin a new, exciting, and rewarding career in the wind industry. Please continue on to learn how you can enroll in our course and get trained to work in one of the entry level wind technician jobs that is waiting for you.

Wind Energy Reports

06.13.2010
According to projections published in the EIA’s International Energy Outlook (IEO2010), the world’s energy consumption will grow by approximately 50% over the next 3 ½ decades. With this surge in demand set to overburden most traditional energy resources, it becomes easy to see how, “renewables are [now] the fastest-growing source of world energy supply,” as stated by EIA Administrator Richard Newell. This fact should come as no surprise to wind industry insiders as market studies have shown that the United States is on track to bring an additional 160 Gigawatts of wind energy capacity online by 2025. With such fantastic growth set for the future, many who have been looking for wind turbine jobs have also discovered the fact that U.S. wind energy investment will total close to $330 billion dollars between 2010 and 2025. As one can imagine, this huge influx of capital will create thousands of new wind energy jobs in states spanning across North America.
